The Liverpool Arms is one of the best known pubs on the Isle of Man. Standing mid way between Onchan and Laxey, this former coaching house is the original Half Way House and the road it stands on is universally referred to as 'The L.A. Straight'.
Operated by Nigel and Marilyn Dobson with Nick Dale in the kitchen, 'The L.A.' as it is known throughout the Island, tries to provide the standards set by generations of publicans before them. Nigel takes great pride in the quality of his Real Ales and Marilyn insists that the menu is made up of Real Food and Nick is one of the most able chefs on the Island!
The L.A. might be the epitome of the traditional country pub, but if you look closely you will see that this cosy and welcoming environment also embraces the 21st century.
With a large screen plasma television discretely incorporated into the décor, the L.A. is the perfect place to enjoy the big match over a pint. We've subscribed to the new BT HD channel to ensure we have all the top games. We're also closet petrol heads so F1 practise and races are shown along with enough bike meetings to satisfy, well, me!
If you need to keep in touch with the office during lunch, then why not take advantage of the pub's WiFi connection, allowing laptop users to wirelessly connect to ADSL broadband free of charge. There is also free use of an internet computer which might just keep the kids busy while you have a meal!
So whether you live on the Island, or are planning a visit, you have found The Liverpool Arms website, now come and experience the welcome.
