The Liverpool Arms is one of the best known pubs on the Isle of Man. Standing mid way between Onchan and Laxey, this former coaching house is the original Half Way House and the road it stands on is universally referred to as 'The L.A. Straight'.
Operated by Nigel and Marilyn Dobson, 'The L.A.' as it is known throughout the Island, also tries to provide the standards set by generations of publicans before them. Nigel takes great pride in the quality of his Real Ales and Marilyn insists that the menu is made up of Real Food!
The L.A. might be the epitome of the traditional country pub, but if you look closely you will see that this cosy and welcoming environment also embraces the 21st century.
With a large screen plasma television discretely incorporated into the dècor, the L.A. is the perfect place to enjoy the big match over a pint. Or, if you need to keep in touch with the office during lunch, then why not take advantage of the pubs WiFi connection, allowing laptop users to wirelessly connect to ADSL broadband free of charge. There is also free use of an internet computer which might just keep the kids busy while you have a meal!
So whether you live on the Island, or are planning a visit, you have found The Liverpool Arms web site, now come and experience the welcome.
